Dewi Kauw is the founder and formulator behind Skin Dewi, one of Indonesia’s pioneering natural and organic skincare brands. Her journey into skincare did not begin in a laboratory or beauty counter, but from a deeply personal experience as a mother.
When her second child suffered from severe atopic dermatitis, Dewi struggled to find skincare products that were truly gentle, effective, and free from harmful ingredients. This challenge led her to question the safety and transparency of many commercial skincare products. What began as a search for answers soon became a commitment to learning.
With a background in Chemical Engineering, Dewi immersed herself in the study of skin biology, natural ingredients, and formulation science. She pursued further education in natural and organic skincare formulation, learning from international institutions and experts. Rather than following trends, she focused on understanding how ingredients interact with the skin at a fundamental level
In 2015, Dewi founded Skin Dewi with a clear philosophy: skincare should be honest, educational, and respectful to both skin and nature. The brand emphasizes clean formulations, conscious sourcing, and skin education, encouraging people to understand their skin rather than rely on quick fixes.
